I was sad to begin this morning by saying goodbye to my cousin Glen as he left for work, but we’re hoping all of the Judges will stay with us in
Aunt Nanno made us a wonderful breakfast which we enjoyed on their lovely balcony:
On our way out of town, we stopped by the local tea shop where Aunt Nanno kindly helped us stock up on our new favorite beverage. Thank you so much for the Murchie’s!
The sisters: two peas in a pod.
The Judges really went above and beyond the call of duty with their hospitality – we really appreciated it. It was so great to see them!
Alas, with heavy hearts we said goodbye and got in the car for our last drive during SoSA. Crossing the border back into the States was uneventful, and a few hours later we entered
Driving the last few miles home felt surreal – this trip really flew by and we couldn’t believe it was actually over. We both felt so fortunate to have been able to see and experience so much. In many ways, SoSA was way better than we had even hoped it would be. Pulling into the driveway definitely felt bittersweet.
My Dad greeted us at the door, and seeing a friendly face made re-entering reality much easier. Facing the task of unloading the car, though, was a little daunting. It looks a little different from Day 1, huh?

Our final mileage total. We considered driving around for awhile to break 10,000!
Thanks so much to everyone for posting comments or emailing us during the trip. It was a lot of fun to know you were following our adventures. We hope to be able to give you all of the details about our travels in person at some point soon!

Haven't forgotten you in Amarillo, TX. and glad you made it back home safe and sound! Oh the places you've been and the sights you've seen!! Keeping up with your daily adventures has been my favorite summer reading--you are so talented at writing, do think you should publish it all.
Roger wants to send you something, so hope you will send us your mailing address--our email address is: rogerandkaty@sbcglobal.net
As Dorothy said, "There's no place like home!" so enjoy your time there before heading to Virginia.
Thinking of you with warm and caring thoughts--
Roger and Katy Rowntree
It is, indeed, a bittersweet experience to have you home again. Of course we're thrilled to have you here in person, but - oh- how we will miss the blog!
We are so happy that you made this opportunity for yourselves to have the trip of a lifetime. You're an inspiration to us all. Just remember that SOSA is really a way of thinking about life - not just miles covered - and you'll have many more to come.
Love you both,
Mum
